Using Aeterna
Your vault & verifying
The Vault lists everything you have stored. Every file can be verified by anyone, using only its transaction ID.
The vault
Open the Vault tab at the top of the app. You can search by name, show only encrypted files, and filter by status. The dashboard shows your totals: files stored, space used, and uploads still confirming.

Encrypted files show as “Encrypted file”
We never know an encrypted file's real name. Your vault shows it only in the browser that uploaded it, from the keys stored there. On another device, the file appears as “Encrypted file” until you open it with its key.The Verify page
Verify (a tab at the top of the app) checks anything stored on Aeterna three ways:
- Transaction ID — paste a file's ID to open its verification page.
- Commitment — paste the
0x…commitment of an encrypted file. The page searches Arweave's public records for the upload that carries it. - Upload file — choose a file you have. It is fingerprinted in your browser (never uploaded) and matched against stored files. For a file stored encrypted, add its key and the page checks its commitment as well.
Verifying a file
Every file has a public verification page at /verify/<transaction-id>. It asks the Arweave network directly — not our records — whether the transaction exists and is confirmed:
- File verified — permanently stored on Arweave.
- Confirmation pending — submitted, still being settled. Check back in a few minutes.
- Transaction not found — Arweave has no record of this ID. Check it was copied correctly.
Where we have a record of the file, the page also shows its size, upload date, whether it is encrypted, and its content hash, so anyone holding a copy can compare it byte for byte.
Verifying without Aeterna
You don't need us to prove a file is stored. Its transaction ID works on any Arweave gateway and explorer, for example https://arweave.net/<transaction-id>. That independence is the point: the proof outlives any one company.
